We Love Teachers Worldwide needs dedicated volunteers in all ten cities to make October 10th unforgettable. Whether you're directing runners, cheering at water stations, or organizing the finish line — your presence makes this possible.
Why volunteer
Volunteering at We Love Teachers Worldwide means being at the center of one of the most meaningful community events in your city — and being part of something national at the same time.
Volunteer roles
Every role matters. You'll select your top preferences on the application — we do our best to match you with a role that fits your energy and availability.
Greet participants, verify registrations, hand out race packets, and answer first-day questions. The face of the race from the moment people arrive.
Positioned at key course turns to direct runners, keep the route safe, and cheer participants through. The heartbeat of the race experience.
Set up and manage water and electrolyte stations on the course. Hand out cups, encourage runners, keep the station clean. High-energy and fun.
Welcome every finisher across the line. Hand out medals, keep the chute moving, and make sure every participant feels celebrated. The best spot on the course.
Capture photos and video on race day and share to the event's social accounts in real time. Help build the national leaderboard content and participant UGC moments.
Support sponsor booths and the post-race experience zone. Help participants navigate the village, manage lines, and coordinate with sponsor representatives.

Common questions
Do I need race experience to volunteer?
Not at all. Many of our best volunteers have never run a race in their lives. Every role comes with a briefing and role-specific training at the venue before the race starts. Enthusiasm is the only prerequisite.
Can I volunteer in a city I don't live in?
Yes. Select the city you'd like to volunteer in on the application. We'll send you venue details and logistics once your application is confirmed. Just make sure you can get there on race morning.
Can I bring a group to volunteer?
Absolutely — and we love it. Groups of 6 or more get a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will work with you on role assignments and scheduling. Great for businesses, churches, school groups, and friend groups. Note your group on the application.
Will I get to watch the race?
Depending on your role, yes. Course marshals and water station volunteers are out on the course for the full event. Finish line crew volunteers see every finisher come through. Registration volunteers transition to the experience zone once the race begins.
What should I wear?
Wear your volunteer shirt (we'll give you one), comfortable clothing for your city's October weather, and closed-toe shoes. We'll send a weather reminder the week before race day.
Can my child volunteer?
Volunteers must be 16 or older. Volunteers aged 16–17 require a signed guardian waiver, which we'll send with your confirmation. Please indicate the volunteer's age on the application.
What if I need to cancel?
Life happens. If you can't make it, please let us know at least 5 days before October 10th at coach@efitphany.com with the subject "Volunteer Cancellation — [Your City]." This gives us time to fill your spot and keep the race running smoothly.
Is there a deadline to apply?
Applications close September 20th or when volunteer spots are filled — whichever comes first. Some roles in high-demand cities fill faster than others. Apply early to maximize your role options.
