Why volunteer

More than a morning.
A moment you'll remember.

Volunteering at We Love Teachers Worldwide means being at the center of one of the most meaningful community events in your city — and being part of something national at the same time.

🎓
Honor the people who shaped you
Every runner on that course is honoring a teacher who changed their life. Every volunteer is the reason they can. There is no more direct way to say thank you to educators than showing up for this.
🌍
Be part of something national
Ten cities. One morning. You and thousands of volunteers across the country are running this simultaneously. Your water station in Atlanta is connected to one in Chicago, Nashville, and Philadelphia.
🤝
Build community in your city
Volunteers are the first faces participants see and the last ones they remember. You are the energy of race day. The connections made on courses last well beyond the morning.

Common questions

Volunteer FAQ

Do I need race experience to volunteer?

Not at all. Many of our best volunteers have never run a race in their lives. Every role comes with a briefing and role-specific training at the venue before the race starts. Enthusiasm is the only prerequisite.

Can I volunteer in a city I don't live in?

Yes. Select the city you'd like to volunteer in on the application. We'll send you venue details and logistics once your application is confirmed. Just make sure you can get there on race morning.

Can I bring a group to volunteer?

Absolutely — and we love it. Groups of 6 or more get a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will work with you on role assignments and scheduling. Great for businesses, churches, school groups, and friend groups. Note your group on the application.

Will I get to watch the race?

Depending on your role, yes. Course marshals and water station volunteers are out on the course for the full event. Finish line crew volunteers see every finisher come through. Registration volunteers transition to the experience zone once the race begins.

What should I wear?

Wear your volunteer shirt (we'll give you one), comfortable clothing for your city's October weather, and closed-toe shoes. We'll send a weather reminder the week before race day.

Can my child volunteer?

Volunteers must be 16 or older. Volunteers aged 16–17 require a signed guardian waiver, which we'll send with your confirmation. Please indicate the volunteer's age on the application.

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens. If you can't make it, please let us know at least 5 days before October 10th at coach@efitphany.com with the subject "Volunteer Cancellation — [Your City]." This gives us time to fill your spot and keep the race running smoothly.

Is there a deadline to apply?

Applications close September 20th or when volunteer spots are filled — whichever comes first. Some roles in high-demand cities fill faster than others. Apply early to maximize your role options.
